This CD Tour takes the visitor through parts of Mosby’s Confederacy beginning at Truro Church in Fairfax where Mosby made a daring capture behind Federal lines of a Union General, Edwin Stoughton. The tour continues west along Route 50 making stops at Germantown, Fair Oaks Memorial, Cub Run, Pleasant Valley Church, Lenah, Mt. Zion Church, Aldie Mill, Dover, Middleburg and ends in Atoka. This second tour into Mosby’s Confederacy begins at Rector’s Crossroads (Atoka today) and follows Rt. 50 into Clarke County ending at Snickers Gap on Rt. 7. The tour includes the fight at Mt. Carmel Church, west of Ashby’s Gap, the surrender negotiations at Millwood, and the Berryville Wagon Train Raid. The tour is approximately 1hour and 30 minutes long.

4. Compact Disc - In the Wake of Antietam

Sandwiched between the great battles of Antietam and Fredericksburg, three smaller, seemingly-insignificant engagements took place at Philomont, Unison and Upperville. The tour takes the listener from Lovettsville in Loudoun County to Rectortown in Fauquier County while traveling through some of the most scenic countryside of the Mosby Heritage Area. 5. Mosby Heritage Area Map (detail shown)

The Mosby Heritage Area Map was created by Eugene Scheel for the Mosby Heritage Area Association. The map includes Civil War battle sites, Mosby sites, historic homes, churches, Native American sites, and early road ways. The area shown on the map extends to the Shenandoah River on the west and the Manassas National Battlefield and the Loudoun County line on the east. The map includes most of Loudoun County and Fauquier County south to Warrenton. The map is 3’x3’ in size on a cream background.

6. Mosby Heritage Area Lapel Pin

The Mosby Heritage Area Association has created this attractive lapel pin with the organization’s famous logo. The pin depicts a gold colored horseman in relief riding across a black enameled background. Written around the edge of the pin are MOSBY HERITAGE AREA and VIRGINIA in gold relief on a dark gray enameled background. The pin was designed by W. Bristol Classics of Bristol, Tennessee exclusively for the Mosby Heritage Area Association.

10. Reunion Badge

This commemorative badge consists of a button inside a red rosette with a red and gray ribbon.  The button has “43rd Bttn. Va. Cav.” written above a picture of Col. Mosby with “Mosby’s Rangers” written under the picture.   The red ribbon, which is on top of the gray ribbon, has “Second Celebration of Mosby’s Rangers Descendents” written in gold.   Crossed sabers and the year 2009 are at the bottom of the red ribbon.

To the victorious Confederates, it was the Battle of Leesburg. The badly beaten Federals named it for the imposing fortress-like rocky precipice on the northern side of the Potomac near Washington DC - Ball's Bluff. Fought three months to the day after First Manassas (Bull Run) and another in a long line of Federal defeats during the first year of the war - the battle was, as author James Morgan puts it, "a reconnaissance mission gone bad."

A signature element of the series is the driving/walking tour of the sites, including the Ball's Bluff National Cemetery. This book is a must for all Civil War buffs, especially those interested in early clashes of the war and lesser-known battlefields

Mosby's Keydet Rangers includes a large amount of previously unpublished material that gives the reader new insights into the young men who matriculated at VMI and rode with Colonel John Singleton Mosby. It is a comprehensive collection of short biographical sketches, personal letters, accounts of raids and incidents, anecdotes, newspaper articles, passages from books, memorials, and obituaries that brings the young Rangers to life and sheds new light on their operations during the war. The book is hardcover, 8 1/2 X 11 and 204 pages.
